Yes, it’s already time for another issue of The Eye Magazine. We are thrilled to have a chance to bring you even more information and, this time, a few chances to for you to show us what you’ve got! Check out our reader survey for some excellent prizes and our photo contest for your shot at published photos!
Our lead article this issue comes from Tara R. Harris, PhD. She’s been working with the Colobus monkeys in Uganda for years and has been kind enough to share her knowledge and experience with everyone. You’ll defi nitely learn some new things. Also, we are all wondering about the bird fl u and what it may mean for us here in Uganda. Doc Stockley puts our fears to rest in this issue, with his take on the risk and how we as individuals and residents can best deal with the threat if it comes our way. For all the adventurers and nature lovers out there, make sure you have a look at the lodge review: Lacam Lodge in Sipi Falls. It is an amazing place, with everything from low-key relaxation to highadrenaline excitement!
We also must extend an apology to all of you, readers and advertisers, for the tardiness of our last issue. Unfortunately, the ever-increasing power cuts have caused severe problems not only for our TV watching hours but our printers as well. Beginning with this issue, we have chosen yet another printer who promises to be more reliable and, more importantly, prompt!
For the last issue, we would also like to issue a correction and apology for our photo contributors for the Ik article. The cover photo was contributed by Nyx Martinez, while article photos were taken by Nyx Martinez, Ben G., Celly Kamoi and Robin Yamaguchi as part of Radioactive Productions and Family Care Uganda. We are very sorry for the mix-up and still very appreciative of your contributions.
Until our next issue, enjoy yourselves and stock up on generators or
solar panels to survive these crazy power cuts!
