Ecole Française – French School of Kampala (since 1970)
International academic standards for the only bilingual (French/English) school, cosmopolitan (25 nationalities), part of a French government subsidised worldwide network. French curriculum offered in both languages. Children enrolment from 2 years for Kindergarten, up to French Baccalaureate, the open door to French, European and most American, Canadian Universities. Kindergarten (2-5), primary (6-11)and secondary (12-18). Only secondary taught through France-based national distance learning centre, with qualified tutors. Teachers, native or not, all benefit from annual regional training in Africa. School year runs September-June. Registrations accepted year round if space availability. Excellently located on “lugogo bypass” and easily reachable from most “7 hills”. The younger a kid joins, the easier he/she will acquire bilingual skills at school, a plus for either expatriates or long-term residents measuring the real African dimension.

Alliance Française of Kampala, (since 1954)
The only official French language / cultural centre in Uganda, part of a centenary Paris-based network with over 1200 centres worldwide. It carries out French teaching and cultural activities aimed at enhancing the links between Uganda and French speaking nations, in particular African countries. Alliance Française offers a wide range of classes to more than 500 students per term, beginners / more advanced alike (diplomats, journalists, civil servants, translators, etc). Permanent training for teachers helps them design tailored corporate French classes, delivered on site, during their business hours. Alliance offers classes 7 days / 7. Since 2006, Alliance Française has been working in partnership with the Ugandan German Cultural Society and both propose a hub for language and culture on common premises @ 62, Bukoto Street, Kamwokya (Kisementi area).

Ugandan Association of Teachers of French (since 1980)
a non-partisan organization, governed by a constitution. Its objective is to promote the teaching of French, encourage and assist teachers throughout Uganda by maintaining contact, fostering relations with stakeholders, especially the Ministry of Education. Its membership is open to all teachers of French and to all individuals dedicated to the same cause. The association holds its AGM every other year. It actively participates in the Francophone celebrations every March, drama competitions, sponsors courses and meetings and fosters the teaching capacity. Its newsletter is published twice or more yearly. All members are informed of developments in all aspects of French teaching. It closely works in cooperation with all three other actors.

French Embassy (Est.1962)
Provides programmes and tools to promote and develop the linguistic cooperation.
Grant educational programmes provided (mainly for teachers of French):
