‘KAMPALA’ is the title of a new colourful coffee table book about life in the capital city the way it really is. Do not expect to see static pictures of buildings and historical sights, the book is bustling with activity, colours, movement and people of all ages going about their daily lives.

Rebke Klokke, photographer, and Babette du Marchie Sarvaas, agricultural economist, embarked on this project not long after having met in Kampala in 2003. Both have lived in Africa for a number of years. This book is the result of an idea growing slowly into an unstoppable, fun adventure: seeing and catching images of Kampala - the other side.

Some will clearly recognise the different scenes as they drive around town. Others will be shown the unexpected and catch a backstage glimpse of the city. The hardback photography book has black and white as well as colour photographs all set in a black background. The layout is unique with some pages having series of 16 or more photographs. It is a definite must-have if you have lived in or visited ‘KAMPALA’.
